JASON MOMOA | 3D xGen Hair and Fur
For this project, I utilized Maya's xGen Hair and Fur system to create detailed hair and facial hair on the model. The workflow began by setting up guide curves that control the general shape and direction of the hair strands. I carefully groomed the guides to ensure a natural flow and realistic silhouette. Next, I applied various modifiers, including Clump, Noise, and Curl, to introduce subtle variations in the hair, enhancing its realism and adding natural imperfections. These modifiers allowed me to achieve a layered, voluminous look while maintaining control over the hair’s density and distribution. To finalize the appearance, I refined the material properties, adjusting the shader attributes such as gloss, specular highlights, and color to match the desired aesthetic. The rendering was done using Arnold, which allowed for high-quality lighting and shadow interactions, capturing the intricate details of the hair strands for a lifelike result. This approach enabled me to create a visually compelling character with a focus on realism and attention to detail in hair and fur dynamics.
